This will be the first of a series of posts that will be discussing the ago old topic about how to protect and secure your computers at home. It seems that is what many of you who read this blog are most interested so I’ll be happy to give you plenty of good in-depth info.
The most known line of defense is the anti-virus (AV) software. The problem I’ve found is that many people buy a new computer which usually comes with Norton or McAfee installed and one year of free AV support and updates. However for various reasons when that year expires they never renew that support and their AV becomes outdated and ineffective. Well the good thing is that unlike many years ago there are now very effective FREE AV solutions that also include free definition updates- which is an absolute must to prevent the latest and greatest (er..worst) virus infections.
