Create your own DVR- open source

If you are looking to get a DVR and/or entire media center setup at your home but don’t want to spend all the money on licenses and possibly new hardware for the Microsoft solution- then you may want to check out MediaPortal.
I haven’t tried this myself, but I’m very interested in this and may do so in the near future. Just remember you will need to have a cable card setup on your PC first. Looks pretty cool with it’s integration capabilities, so if you are a geek you may want to give it a shot- if anything just for fun.
