So this week I decided to try and show my wife the wonderful world of RSS feeds, on that note I’ll add my $.02 on here. For those newbies, here is a great way to get aquainted with RSS and Web Feeds via Wiki:
Now your not-so-newbie-anymore self can check out these tips & tricks to get even more knowledge:
Okay so now that you are an expert in RSS feeds, let me tell you some of my favorite ways to read feeds. First off for a few top feeds I actually have them added into my personalized Google.com homepage via personalized content, if you haven’t created a personalized Google homepage you should check it out- good stuff. Secondly for the rest of my feeds I use a Mozilla Firefox (browser, like Internet Explorer- only better) extension called Sage which I highly recommend.
Now favorites that I am subscribed too.
- CNET News
- Unofficial Microsoft Weblog
- Unofficial Google Weblog
- Googling Google
- Lifehacker
- Slashdot
- Wired News
- IIS Tips & Tricks Resources
- Server: Microsoft IIS/6.0
- [200 OK] Port 80 Software

So no you used-to-be newbies might be saying well that’s great in all but how can I find those feeds to try out for myself. Well, check out this link below for a great way to search for feeds, just type in what I wrote above and it will find it for you. Then right next to the result entry there will be an orange XML button, click that and there’s your feed. Add that to your feed reader or RSS Firefox folder.
