Gmail open to all users

Today Gmail opened up it’s services for all to use (at least in US, Canada, and Mexico) after having been an invitation only service for the 3 years it’s been running. So now there is no excuse for you not to be on Gmail!

I was reading a story today that had another angle about the phenomena of Gmail that I hadn’t thought of for some reason. It can be argued that Gmail has been as helpful for those that use it as those that don’t. For example free web mail services such as Yahoo and Hotmail were only offering 10MB of email storage when Gmail started, but since they felt the pressure they’ve increased it to 1GB - 2GBs to compete with Gmail. All hail Gmail!
