DRM on the way out for digital music downloads?
April 26th, 2007 by jay
According to this post on ARS DRM (digital rights management) may be on its way out in the next 6 months. This is great news for consumers who love buying their music digitally. I personally use the cheap Russian sites not just because they are cheap but because they have no DRM attached to their downloads. If legit American sites started offering DRM-free downloads I would be very inclined to switch to them because I don’t want the artiest to be cheated from what they deserve anymore than they do. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out…
