More on Orlando Economy

Well if there is one thing that stays constant with this blog its that I get “stuck” on a topic for a few days, oh well. Carrying on that tradition here’s another posting about Orlando’s economy. While verifying the story I posted yesterday I ran into this page on the Orlando Economic Development Commission. Obviously it’s of course going to paint a pretty picture, but still there’s some good bullets on that list if you are an Orlando resident. Here are a few…

  • According to a newly released book, Today’s Hot Job Targets, Metro Orlando ranks second in the nation for job opportunities.
  • Inc. magazine names Orlando as the fourth “Best City for Business” in the large cities category
  • According to Forbes magazine, Orlando is the fourth “Best City in the Country for creating jobs.”
  • Metro Orlando is the “Number One City for Entrepreneurs” by Entrepreneur Magazine.
  • Forbes.com ranks Metro Orlando second on their annual list of “Most Wired Communities” and fourth among “The Best Cities to Get a Job.”

And finally I of course take special pride in this one:

  • Wired magazine names Orlando as one of the nation’s “Best Geek Cities”, citing the area as a top ten place to “get your geek on.”
