Review: The National in Concert
September 12th, 2007 by jay
All I can say is that The National kicked some major a** last night in Orlando. This was the type show that turned you from big fan to life long fan. They really impressed me with the energy they brought and they just sounded fantastic. They mostly played songs from their latest album The Boxer, but also mixed in about 4-5 from Alligator and a few others from earlier years. Whether it was a bang your head fast song or dramatic slow song they hit homer after homer. Favorites on the night have to be All the Wine, Daughters of Soho Riots, and of course Mr. November.
Also I really enjoyed The Rosebuds who opened for them. I didn’t know the group but downloaded some of their stuff after buying tickets and I’m glad I did. This is a band that I hope to see a lot more of in the future. Kelly Crisp (vocals/keyboard) seemed to be enjoying herself on stage and well frankly she’s not too bad to look at either!
I have pics and short videos that I’ll be posting later. Right now I’m concentrating on the big week at UCF as Texas comes to town to open our new on campus stadium!
