Review: Kings of Leon in concert
November 1st, 2007 by jay

So last night for Halloween me and a buddy headed out to Hard Rock Live to catch the Kings of Leon in concert. So we got a great concert and I didn’t have to answer the door 40 times in a night and hand out candy. Works for me…
The opening acts where The Features followed by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The Features were pretty entertaining and I knew of none of their stuff before the night, on the other hand I was pretty disappointed with BRMC as I did know of some of their stuff and liked what I had heard however I had no interest in them performing live. In fact my buddy and I left during their set to head to the back and grab and beer and chat, that’s how much I was unimpressed unfortunately.
Kings of Leon didn’t disappoint though and you could tell the crowd was into their entire set. I enjoyed their entire set, however surprisingly my favorite was probably Trani from Youth and Young Manhood, which is nowhere near the top of my favorite KOL song list. They just played the hell out of it, perfect song to end their original set list. My only complaint on the night is I couldn’t hear anything Caleb Followill was saying to the crowd, but maybe it was me. Also couldn’t find out what the deal was with the dude on the side of the stage dressed in a police costume that looks like he was wrapped in saran wrap. He bothered me…other than that, great concert!
