Just found out about this last week and unfortunately things have been to crazy to really play around on it much, but nonetheless I was thrilled to discover Nintendo8.com. The site hosts all the classic 8-bit games my generation grew up playing and the best part is it’s free and no downloads are required as they’ve all been recoded in Java. It’s very nostalgic for me because playing some of these games really brings me back to my childhood and playing my Nintendo hooked up to the TV in my parents room. Fun stuff…

While I’m pointing out the site let me take this time to pimp some of the games that I absolutely loved which you may not know about. Our family favorite without a doubt was Wrecking Crew, a personal favorite was Super Dodge Ball, and my first sports game obsession was Baseball Simulator 1000- my buddy and I would stay up until dawn playing each other over and over week after week. A few others to check out for fun- Marble Madness, RC Pro Am, and last but not least Top Gun.

Now if I can just get some free time so I can enjoy them myself. One of these days…ahh to be a kid again and play Nintendo on a crappy 19″ TV in my parents room.
