Book Review: The Last Patriot

The Last Patriot by Brad Thor was a fun book to read, read it very fast for my standards as I couldn’t put it down many times. This is a Da Vinci Code type book which mixes in historical fact, fiction, action, and religion. The only problem is it is not quite as good as Da Vinci Code, but it still holds it’s own as an exciting thriller that also treats you with some history lessons. I definitely learned a few things about the Koran and Thomas Jefferson that I didn’t know before.

Compared to another action thriller I just read Spy by Ted Bell I’d say that this book moved at a much faster pace, but overall I may give Spy the nudge.

Actually, I am quite looking forward to the latest Brad Thor book, as I’m just about finishing up the book of his right before this one. If you haven’t read his stuff before, I’m sure you’d like his other novels in the Scott Harvath series preceding this latest release - there is more back story about Scott (the protagonist) and other situations.

Just thought I’d share, and I can’t wait to read this one!

Yeah I think I’m definitely going to check out another Brad Thor book. Do you have any recommendations as to which one I should read next?

Well, the first one in the “series” is the Lions of Lucerne (if you want to start at the beginning)… but I’d highly recommend both State of the Union and Blowback. Blowback has actually been my favorite - though at first you totally think the plot line is a little out-there! State of the Union is also a good read - very quick, as you really can’t put it down!

      Take care!
